Cute Finds in Singapore
I’m so going back to see the Grand Prix next year. I got a crick in my neck not from the fast cars whizzing by but from the cuties walking around the circuit track.  Like this nice-smelling, oh-so-cute racing enthusiast sitting beside me (thank you, ticketing office & Singapore Tourism Board, the best! ;)): This was at the qualifying, by the finals we knew each other well enough...

The Pullout Patsy: Store 3
I technically didn’t do much damage at this store, having bought only one item for myself, except a crazy thing happened.  The store didn’t get back to me with their pullout approval so I ended up going impromptu Christmas shopping. So, if you happen to see my name on a publication featuring several items from Store 3, be sure to let me know if there’s something in particular...

The Pullout Patsy: Store 2
Was at Store 2 for my pullout project, and the stuff I bought will give you a clue which shop I hit.   It was a good thing that the store had so many cute items, my brain was overloaded, so I just got my staple capsule toys and a cute plushie key cap for sale (P75!!) Having my house key in a cute key cap makes me more eager to come home. Lol.  This particular series of capsule toys...

The Pullout Patsy: Store 1
I was recently assigned a project for a publication that involves pulling out from different stores.  My dilemma about pulling out items to be featured is that chances are, the things I’ll be borrowing for the shoot are things I want, right? And if you want something, shouldn’t you buy it?? Whenever I pullout, I try my best to resist. Or if I give in, I try not to give in too much....

Mail Call: Strapya World (Again!)
Leave it to me to blog about San-X so much that I gave myself a craving to check on Strapya World again.  And guess what? The earphones I wanted which was out of stock were back in stock.  Drat.  Of course, since I was ordering it, I might as well order a few more items since I was going to pay a flat rate for shipping anyway.  I ordered it Wednesday midnight, it shipped out Wednesday...

Love From Friends: HK Goodies & A Very Early...
J and Momon’s recent trip to Hong Kong was rife with fun, blissfully absent of any “retaliation” drama and chock-full of goodies.  Muji stationery. To those who are complaining about Muji’s imminent arrival here in Manila claiming Muji will lose its exclusive appeal, get over yourselves.  Any opportunity to have Muji merchandise instantly on hand is welcome.   ...

Pre-dawn Inspiration: Kireizukin & his new home
It’s 3.30 am and I’m awake like it’s early evening. I really promise not to give in to late afternoon naps since I always end up keyed up ‘til the wee hours of the morning.  Of course, I do have to thank my nap for the sudden burst of inspiration.  I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner.  Remember the Kireizukin Seikatu mousepad that I bought? ...

Obsession: San-X (The Prequel)
I can clearly remember which started my mini obsession with San-X.  Like I mentioned in an earlier post, where I showed some love for my favorite San-X characters, I learned only recently that Rilakkuma & Kireizukin Seikatu are part of an umbrella character licensing company, San-X.  Apparently, San-X has been around for quite some time. They are also the ones responsible for this guy: ...

Mail Call: Strapya World
A friend celebrated his birthday recently and he kept gushing over a thing he wanted when we were having drinks.  I decided to check one of my most favorite online shops, Strapya World, the wasteland for all things kawaii and cellphone related.  True enough, they had what he wanted (hopefully it is what he was referring to). I added it to my shopping cart and rationalized that surely I had to...

Mail Call: My First Etsy Purchase
I have this weekend hobby where I look wade through Etsy’s numerous handmade stuff for sale.  My browser always ends up looking like an explosion of opened tabs, as I open tab after tab after tab of each Etsy item that interests me.  Eventually, I’ll find myself so confused that I’d end up not buying anything.  Except last week.  I was doing my usual window shopping,...

Purchased: Connector Rings
Purchased: Connector Rings A recent hunt for connector rings for a shoot led me to my usual store for unique costume jewelry.  While my search for the exact connector rings for my shoot proved futile, I found myself the owner of two rings. Now I’m not a fan of connector rings.  I find them terribly restrictive and do not relish the idea of having two fingers fused together like an...

Trip Diaries: Marina Bay Sands in Singapore
Went to Singapore a couple of weeks back to cover the Samsung-sponsored Youth Olympic Games.  We stayed at the Marina Bay Sands hotel.  Funnily enough, this hotel was the view from the hotel I stayed in last April (Mandarin Oriental).  The Marina Bay Sands is the hotel with the boat on top and a casino and mall attached.   The boat at night.   My view from the Mandarin Oriental last...
